Best Seasoning for Ground Turkey (Two Methods)

With proper seasoning, ground turkey can be turned into a delicious and filling dish. Be it burgers, tacos or stir-fries, the right seasoning of herbs and spices not only uppens its taste but also keeps it juicy and tasty.

INGREDIENTS

Ground Turkey Taco Seasoning

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt  to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Garlic Onion Ground Turkey Seasoning

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt more or less to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon  Italian seasoning optional for extra depth
  • ¼ teaspoon of dried thyme or dried oregano optional for an earthiness

INSTRUCTIONS

  • In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium heat to ensure it doesn’t stick (and add flavor).
  • Add the turkey to the pan and using a spatula or wooden spoon breaking it up.
  • Stir occasionally for 5-7 minutes until no longer pink.
  • Evenly sprinkle your favorite blend of spices (for example, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, chili powder, paprika, salt, and pepper) on top of the turkey.
  • Mix well so the turkey is coated in seasoning and let cook for another 1-2 minutes for the flavors to come through.
  • Taste a small bite, and if necessary, adjust the seasoning before serving.
