INGREDIENTS

  • ½ cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce optional
  • 2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Combine all the ingredients in a small bowl.
  • Combine them and whisk until a smooth consistency is reached.
  • About 25 minutes into baking the meatloaf, remove it from the oven and over the meatloaf, spoon the glaze.
  • Bake the meatloaf for 45-50 minutes, or until an instant-read thermometer reads 160 degrees Fahrenheit in the middle.
  • After five minutes of resting, cut into slices and serve.

NOTES

  • Add ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper if you prefer a little heat.
  • Replace the ketchup with barbecue sauce for a smoky taste.
  • To make it tangier, add a tablespoon of yellow mustard.
