INGREDIENTS

  • 4 Slices of bread

Toppings

  • 1 tablespoon Butter or peanut butter
  • 1 tablespoon Strawberry jam
  • 1 tablespoon Nutella

INSTRUCTIONS

Oven Method

  • Preheat oven for 450 Fª.
  • Use a large enough baking sheet to place the bread slices on one layer. Be sure to NOT butter it or grease it.
  • Place the slices of bread or bagels on a baking sheet and bake for 6 minutes on each side or until golden brown and flip to the other side.
  • Remove, and butter it! Voila!

Broiler Method

  • When you have the free time to stand and observe the toast for three to four minutes, use this technique. You HAVE to check it! I prefer this approach since I can do the task quickly.
  • In your oven, set the rack in the second from the top position.
  • Get a rimmed baking sheet big enough to handle all the slices of bread you want to toast, then turn on the broiler. DO NOT oil or butter it.
  • Place the bread on the baking sheet in one layer just like the oven method.
  • Toast should be baked on the baking sheet for 1-½ minutes, or until the top is crisp and golden brown. Your oven's timing will determine when to bake the toast.
  • When the bread has two browned sides and the top side has browned, turn the slices over and put them back in the oven for another minute or so.
  • Remove, and serve with butter if preferred.

NOTES

  • Bread: If I need to prepare a large amount, my baking sheets can accommodate up to 8 pieces of bread. The bread should not be stacked. You can use bagels, English muffins, or any other type of bread you like.
  • Exercise caution when broiling: Stay close to the toast when broiling it to prevent toast burn. This approach is popular since it is quicker. The oven will become hotter the longer the broiler is on. The second side doesn't need to toast for as long as the first side.
  • Cook according to what you like: In order to get the required level of browning, adjust the time as necessary.
