INGREDIENTS

  • 2 pounds  900g chuck steak (or round/sirloin)
  • 700 g 1.5 pounds baby potatoes (whole, unpeeled)
  • 1 medium onion sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup 240ml beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons  worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons  butter
  • 1 oz onion soup spice mix
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Sear the steak – Add the steak to a hot skillet and sear it for 1-2 minutes per side until browned. This seals in juices and imparts a deep flavor.
  • Layer in the crockpot – Add the seared steak to the bottom, followed by whole baby potatoes, the sliced onion and minced garlic.
  • Season and add liquids – Add salt, pepper and onion soup spice mix, and beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Place butter on top.
  • Slow Cook: Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or high for 3 -4 hours until the steak is tender and the potatoes are cooked through.
  • Serve & enjoy – Stir everything gently, plate up, and enjoy your flavorful, melt in your mouth steak and potatoes!
