Chicken Breasts on Blackstone
We always have chicken for supper, and I'm constantly searching for different ways to prepare it. I must admit that one of the simplest and fastest ways to prepare chicken is to cook it on a Blackstone Griddle.
Since chicken cutlets cook quickly and don't require marinating, I actually like them. Simply add the seasoning and cook. This takes no more than six minutes!
We prepare meals with leftover chicken and create a large batch of cutlets at once. Blackstone chicken can be used in almost any recipe that asks for cooked chicken, including salads and chicken quesadillas.
Ingredients
This basic recipe requires only a few common grocery store goods. The full proportions are listed on the printable recipe card below.
- Chicken breasts – Look for cutlets or slice boneless, skinless chicken breasts in half to cook faster. You can also use chicken thighs in this recipe.
- Seasonings: sea salt, black pepper, and Italian spice. Sometimes I use herbes de Provence instead of Italian.
- Avocado oil, vegetable oil, or any oil with a high smoking point. Olive oil is not suggested for use on the griddle. We also like to add a little butter, which is optional.
How to Cook Chicken on Blackstone
- First, sprinkle salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning on both sides of the chicken. Next, apply some butter on the griddle's surface and heat the Blackstone to medium heat (350–375).
- Although it's up to you, we prefer to add a small amount of butter just before the chicken. Then put the chicken on the griddle's surface.
- After two to three minutes, flip the chicken over since cutlets cook quickly. After four to six minutes, turn the chicken if you are using large breasts. Using a meat thermometer or instant-read thermometer, cook the chicken on the second side until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Cover the cooked chicken with aluminum foil after removing it to a dish or foil pan. Before serving, let the chicken rest for five minutes. You will get juicy, flavorful chicken as a result!
What to Serve with Blackstone Grilled Chicken
Griddle chicken goes nicely with almost anything. While the chicken cooks, you can fry potatoes, asparagus, or other vegetables on the griddle. We also enjoy Instant Pot jasmine rice, air fryer corn on the cob, baked beans, microwave baked potatoes, and microwave asparagus. These are all excellent summertime side dishes.
Storage
Keep any leftover grilled chicken in the refrigerator for three to four days in an airtight container. If we don't use chicken in other recipes, we typically reheat it in the microwave. The chicken keeps nicely in the freezer for up to three months.
Recipe Tip
- Use your preferred marinade or flavor blend with this simple recipe.
- Cut chicken breasts in half if cutlets aren't available.
- Before serving, let the chicken rest for five minutes.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
The easiest way to keep these is in an airtight, seal able plastic storage baggie. Refrigerate for no more than two to three days. Make careful to vacuum seal it first if you want to freeze it. (However, I do not recommend this.)
Get a Blackstone if you don't already have one, but in the meantime, you can still eat these chicken breasts. Simply place a cast-iron pan over medium-low heat on your cook top.
Purchasing chicken breasts from a nearby farmer is the BEST option. If for some reason that doesn't work for you, we have absolutely loved the mail-order choices that have been offered for the past few years!
