Quick, Easy, & Flavorful 5 Ingredient Dip
I'm a girl who like the nibbles and appetizers! When Super Bowl Sunday rolls around, you can always find me eating in the spotlight. Or just sinking away while standing in the kitchen on holidays.
Appetizers are the best, after all. You get a variety of tasty, savory, and frequently cheesy small bites.
Of all of them, dips are undoubtedly my favorite. They really are the ideal appetizer! You get both the creamy, delicious flavor of the dip and the crunch of whatever you're dipping. You get the best of both worlds with this.
Additionally, one of my favorite dips that I have ever made is Baked Salsa Cream Cheese Dip. It's also of the simplest dips!
This five-ingredient recipe features a golden brown, gooey, cheesy topping, a tasty salsa center, and a cream cheese foundation. It is simply amazing!
Definitely a must-have for holiday gatherings, game days, and other occasions. Your entire family and all of your friends will be grateful, I can assure you!
Ingredients
This cream cheese salsa dip recipe calls for only 5 easy ingredients, two of which are already listed in the name!
Ingredient Notes
- Cream Cheese: This easy snack is made with regular cream cheese. You'll need one brick of cream cheese.
- Sour Cream: Sour cream is the second base here! It works with the cream cheese to create the creamiest, tastiest foundation layer. A half-cup is all you need.
- Salsa: Perhaps the major ingredient here is a jar of salsa! It truly delivers the greatest flavor. I recommend using one and half cups of pace picante.
- Mexican Cheese: This creamy salsa dip is topped with a generous layer of shredded Mexican-style cheese. It's incredibly good! two cups is ideal.
- Green onions are an optional component, but one that I strongly encourage. They enhance both appearance and flavor!
Substitutions & Additions
Since there aren't many ingredients in this straightforward recipe to start with, there aren't many adjustments that may be made.
Here are some suggestions for changes and substitutions, though, so you may customize this dip to suit your needs, tastes, or preferences!
- Salsa: Adding salsa to this simple cream cheese dip is the ideal way to make it unique! Hot salsa, chunky salsa, mild salsa, or even green salsa could be used. Really anything you want.
- Cheese: You could use any type of cheese in place of the Mexican blend used here. However, I believe that cheddar would yield the second-best outcomes!
- Mix-Ins & toppers: You could add a ton of different mix-ins and toppers to this dip! It would taste great with a coating of corn or re-fried beans. You may also add shredded lettuce, avocado, red onion, and jalapeño on top!

Frequently Asked Questions
For this dip, I used pace picante sauce, which I highly suggest! The salsa is essentially less thick.
However, you are welcome to use whichever salsa you have on hand or your favorite. Anything will do!
The best way to enjoy this dip is with tortilla chips! Pretzels, crackers, or veggie sticks would also make excellent dippers.
Absolutely! Actually, there are a lot of different types of cold cream cheese and salsa dip. This dish, in my opinion, also tastes great at room temperature!
Just omit the baking and either eat it right away or put it in the refrigerator for a short while.
Keep this recipe refrigerated in an airtight container.
However, the salsa fluids may begin to separate if it is kept in the refrigerator for a short period of time. As a result, I suggest reheating it in the oven until it becomes bubbly and melty again.
You certainly can! Cover the dip with foil, bake it, and then put it in the refrigerator.
Then just bake for the specified amount of time in the oven when it's time to serve.
But I only advise getting ready a day or two ahead of time.
