For those times when you want a lot of flavor but don't want to spend a lot of time developing it, it's also quite simple to create.
It only requires a little heat in a small pot and some whisking. Additionally, it's quite simple to adjust to your individual preferences for heat and flavor.

Why this Recipe Works
- Quick and Simple: Making this homemade hot honey dish is a breeze. It takes one minute to put together. Additionally, you just need two components. If you want to be fancy, you can add three ingredients!
- No Cooking: The honey doesn't need to be heated or cooked. This is not only more quicker and easier to manufacture, but it also preserves the honey's nutrients. No pots need to be washed!
- There's no need to refrigerate this spicy honey: it keeps well for weeks at room temperature. You must reheat other chilled hot honeys before using them. In contrast, the consistency of this one will always be pourable.
- Versatile: This can be used in a variety of delectable ways! Drizzle over sandwiches, wraps, pizza, roasted vegetables, cheese, wings, or nuggets. Use it in marinades, dressings, vinaigrette, and more.
Main Ingredients
This honey sriracha sauce recipe only requires a few basic ingredients.
- Honey. Although honey complements the other tastes in this recipe so beautifully, you are free to substitute another liquid sweetener if you want. Both agave and coconut nectar would make excellent refined sugar alternatives; but, as maple syrup can impart a maple flavor, I would not suggest using it in this recipe. Make sure the granulated sweetener dissolves completely if using it to avoid having a gritty sauce.
- Sriracha. Garlic, vinegar, and red jalapenos give Sriracha its flavor. One of my favorite pantry essentials to have on hand is this spicy sauce, which complements a wide variety of foods.
- Soy sauce. Not required. The finished sauce gains a pleasant umami boost from the soy sauce.
- Rice vinegar. The flavors in this sauce are enhanced by a small amount of acidity. You might use apple cider vinegar or fresh lime juice in its place if you don't have rice vinegar.
- Garlic. Sriracha, honey, and garlic go hand in hand. The addition of a small amount of garlic elevates the flavors of the sriracha and intensifies the garlic that is already there.
- Lemon juice. Ideally, freshly squeezed.
How To Make Honey Sriracha Sauce
- Whisk the Ingredients. In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, whisk together the sriracha, honey, soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, and salt to taste.
- Simmer the Sauce. To let the flavors to blend, simmer for three to four minutes.
- Let the sauce cool. you'll notice that it gets thicker as well. As you taste it while it's cooking, remember that the homemade sauce will get spicier as it cools!
Variations And Substitutions
- Instead of using lime juice, use lemon juice.
- To cook off the garlic, you might use a teaspoon of butter instead of olive oil.
- Soy sauce: For this dish, I often use gluten-free soy sauce. If you don't have soy sauce, you can substitute tamari, Worcestershire sauce, or coconut aminos.
- Honey: Maple syrup can be used in its place.
- Fresh garlic: One teaspoon of garlic powder can be substituted if fresh garlic is not available.
- Apple cider vinegar can be used in place of rice vinegar.
Storage
For at least a month, keep your honey-sriracha sauce refrigerated in an airtight container. Just reheat it to savor it once more.
Additionally, honey-sriracha sauce can be frozen for up to six months in freezer or vacuum-sealed containers.

Sweet And Spicy Honey Sriracha Sauce (Easy Recipe!)
INGREDIENTS
- ¼ cup honey
- ½ tablespoon sriracha
- 2 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 ½ tablespoon rice vinegar
- 5 garlic cloves minced
- ¼ cup lime juice
- Salt to taste
INSTRUCTIONS
- In a small bowl, whisk together the sriracha, honey, rice vinegar, soy sauce, and minced garlic. Use as a glaze or dip for fish, meatballs, poultry, and other foods.
NOTES
- Use Frank's Red Hot as your hot sauce. Otherwise, use another Louisiana-style hot sauce with vinegar, such as Louisiana or Crystal. Taste and adjust the amount of hot sauce.
