The Best Cinnamon Sugar ratio is a delightful combination of ground cinnamon and sugar. Making it only requires two minutes and two ingredients. It is stored well and works excellently for rolling handmade donuts or sprinkling on toast or muffins.

perfect ratio of cinnamon sugar in glass container.

Our favorite ratio is now one part cinnamon to four parts sugar (1:4). It's flexible. It strikes the ideal mix between sweetness and spiciness!

Use it as a filling for cinnamon rolls or sprinkle it over muffins, pie crust, or buttered toast. We've even been known to add some to our morning coffee for a little additional kick.

This recipe for cinnamon sugar is really easy to prepare. Additionally, making it home is far more cost-effective than buying store-bought alternatives.

This and other seasoning blends are also excellent food gifts. The ideal treat for a holiday hostess is to pour it into a lovely tiny jar and wrap it with twine.

    Why You'll Love This Recipe

    • I really like the 1:4 ratio. Although you may always change the ratio to change the sweetness and spiciness
    • The shelf life of this dish is excellent. It will stay in the pantry for a very long time.
    • There are several ways to personalize it! Depending on the kind of sugar and cinnamon you use and the addition of other spices.
jar of cinnamon sugar mixture with cinnamon sticks sticking out of it.

    Main Ingredients

Although you may purchase this mixture from a shop, making it at yourself is far more cost-effective and only requires two simple components.

    • Sugar: Regular granulated sugar is required for this recipe, but brown sugar or coconut sugar can also be used. This recipe calls for granulated sugar, not sanding or powdered sugar.
    • Cinnamon: Make sure it is 100% cinnamon (this should be the only ingredient listed on the label), and use a high-quality ground cinnamon. Alternatively, you may grate your own cinnamon sticks! Warmth, a natural sweetness, and a hint of spice are all added by ground cinnamon.

How To Make The Best Cinnamon Sugar Ratio

    1. In a bowl, combine the cinnamon and sugar. Break up any clumps by combining them with a fork or a little whisk. Mix well to blend.
    2. Keep the mixture at room temperature in an airtight, sealed container.
    3. Store for up to six months.
    bowl of cinnamon sugar mixture.

    The Best Cinnamon Sugar Ratio

A ratio of 1:4 between cinnamon and sugar is ideal. With this ratio, you get cinnamon sugar with just the right amount of spice to add a noticeable cinnamon taste without overpowering whatever you're using it in or on.
That looks like this, depending on how much cinnamon sugar you want to make:
1 cup sugar to ¼ cup cinnamon
A quarter cup of sugar and one tablespoon of cinnamon
1 tablespoon sugar to ¾ teaspoon cinnamon

    Ways to use Cinnamon Sugar

Cinnamon sugar has countless applications. Some of my favorites are as follows:.

    • Cinnamon Sugar Donuts. I use cinnamon sugar on a spiced sugar cruller, tiny donuts, and classic cinnamon sugar donuts. It is simply that wonderful, which is why it is a classic.
    • Cinnamon Sugar Toast. After toasting your preferred bread and adding some high-quality salted butter, top with cinnamon sugar. A quick and delectable breakfast.
    • Sweet Pretzels. Brush cooked pretzels with butter and roll them in cinnamon sugar for a delectable sweet alternative.
    • Include a few more spices. Add a small pinch of kosher salt to the mixture for a savory taste. Alternatively, try experimenting with different spices to provide variety; cardamom, nutmeg, or allspice would be excellent choices. You can experiment with various spices to create unique flavor combinations!

How to store Cinnamon and Sugar

This one is one of those basic homemade spice blends that every home must have in stock. It's also quite easy to make. After combining the sugar and cinnamon, pour the mixture into a glass jar or shaker bottle for convenient daily usage.
Remember that spices do have a shelf life and eventually lose their effectiveness. It won't necessarily go bad, but use it as soon as possible for the greatest flavor.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    How to store cinnamon sugar

The sugar should be kept in a jar, spice shaker or resealable plastic bag to keep out moisture that could clump it.

Can you Store Cinnamon Sugar in the Freezer?

Yes, you can store for up to six months in the freezer in an airtight container.

Can I use a different kind of sugar?

Yes, you can use either cane sugar or brown sugar. It will still taste great even if the flavor will be somewhat altered. Stevia is another calorie-free sweetener that you could use.

What do you use cinnamon sugar for?

So much! Applesauce, buttered toast, French toast, waffles, porridge, soft pretzels, lattes, donuts, and more can all be topped with it. There are countless options!
