Why You'll Love This Recipe
I've never had a bad experience with a meatloaf. It's one of those traditional recipes that tastes as good straight out of the oven as it does the next day in a meatloaf sandwich. However, this one is unique for the following reasons:
- Two types of meat. All you need for the traditional Lipton meatloaf recipe is ground beef. However, I also enjoy adding ground lamb, which adds a little fatty richness and taste to the meat mixture.
- Few Ingredients. The secret ingredient, Lipton Onion Soup Mix, gives the meatloaf a depth of flavour that would otherwise only be possible with a lengthy list of seasonings.
- Perfect Seasoning. Ground meat is seasoned with just the correct amount of salt and flavour thanks to the Lipton Soup Mix, which also gives the meatloaf a delicious, fantastic onion flavour. It eliminates uncertainty and much time spent chopping up fresh ingredients.
Main Ingredients
These are the main ingredients to make this meatloaf recipe.
- Ground lamb (optional) and ground beef. This meatloaf's basis is lean ground beef and lamb, which gives the moist meatloaf mixture its greatest flavour and texture.
- Lipton Onion Soup Mix. This adds a wonderful taste to ground beef. Additionally, you can use a regular onion soup mix or Recipe Secrets Beefy Onion soup mix. You can also use my own onion soup mix.
- Milk. Additionally, using water or beef broth, you can get the breadcrumbs and make the meatloaf extremely tender and moist. This guarantees the deliciousness of every meatloaf slice.
- Eggs. In addition to adding richness, eggs aid in binding the meatloaf.
- Breadcrumbs. It will aid in binding your meatloaf. Panko or normal bread crumbs can be used but should be unseasoned and plain.
- Onion.
- Worcestershire sauce. Adds amazing taste.
- Meatloaf Glaze. If you want to top it with meatloaf glaze, you'll need to double the amount. The meatloaf gains additional moisture and a delicious, acidic taste from the ketchup.
- Ketchup. I used Lesieur's ketchup sauce in this recipe. You can choose your favourite brand and use it as well.
How To Make Lipton Onion Soup Meatloaf
It only takes a few minutes to prepare this recipe, which is quite simple. What you'll do is this.
- Preheat the oven. Start by preheating your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Mix. Ground beef, dry onion soup mix, eggs, ketchup, bread crumbs, water, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder should all be combined in a big bowl. Mix all the ingredients together with your hands until they are well blended.
- Give it a shape. The ground meat mixture can be shaped into a loaf on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper sheet or put in a loaf pan that has been oiled.
- Into the Oven. After putting the pan in the oven, bake it for 50 to 60 minutes or until the middle of the loaf reaches 160F.
- Make the glaze. Combine all the ingredients of the meatloaf glaze in a small glass bowl or recipe.
- Pour in the glaze. After 40 minutes, take your meatloaf out of the oven and pour it on top of the beautiful homemade glaze you just made.
- Turn it back on. Put your meatloaf back in the oven, and let it cook uncovered for another 10-15 minutes or until the internal temp reaches 160F Degrees, using the meat thermometer.
- Rest, slice, and serve. To preserve all the fluids, remove the meatloaf from the oven after it is done cooking and let it rest for ten minutes before slicing and serving.
Variations And Substitutions
- It will also do perfectly if you're not a fan of beef, ground lamb, turkey, or chicken.
- Oatmeal: For a different texture, oatmeal makes a wonderful substitute for bread crumbs. It may be made into a gluten-free meatloaf by using celiac-safe oats.
- BBQ Sauce: For a smokey taste, try some BBQ sauce if you don't like ketchup.
- Cheese: For a cheesy touch, add some grated parmesan cheese.
- Worcestershire Sauce: Add a little to your mixture for a burst of umami.
Make Ahead
The meatloaf mixture can be made up to one day ahead of time. Simply place plastic wrap over the loaf shape and keep it in the refrigerator. When it's ready, bake it according to the directions.
