This Instant Pot fried Rice recipe is simple and fast. Great flavors, simple preparation, and inexpensive ingredients! While we adore dining at hibachi places, the costs may add up quickly. Even while I adore the entertainment and the amusing gimmicks at the restaurant, we definitely cannot go there every week.

Why you'll love it
Have you ever prepared fried rice in a pressure cooker? If not, now is the time! It's simple and hassle-free to cook rice in an Instant Pot, which is precisely what I want.
How are you guys doing? You own a pressure cooker, right? If so, how frequently do you use it? I was ecstatic with the outcomes when I first cooked Instant Pot Chicken Curry.
The fried rice dish made in the Instant Pot was no different. Delicious and hassle-free. Hooray!
Ingredients to make Instant pot fried rice
This is an overview of the ingredients needed to make instant pot fried rice. For the full list and detailed instructions, be sure to check the recipe card down below!
To cook fried rice in the Instant Pot, you will need the following ingredients:
- Rice - any variety of rice When making fried rice, medium-long grains work well, but they must be refrigerated first (more on this below). For the greatest texture, I advise using jasmine rice since it yields fluffy grains that don't clump or fall apart when they're cooked.
- Eggs - For the greatest taste of fried rice, use eggs that are as fresh as possible!
- Garlic powder, paprika, saffron.
- Vegetables - These combinations, which often include peas, corn, carrots, and green beans, are available at the grocery store.
- onion greens.
- Oil.
How to make the Instant Pot Fried Rice
After rinsing, add the rice to the pressure cooker's inner pot. The vegetable stock should be added and stirred. Make sure the rice is distributed evenly. Put the lid on after adding the diced carrots.
Turn on the vent by turning it to the "SEALING" position. In order to set the timer to 3 minutes, select "manual."
I wait 10 minutes after the pot is finished cooking before turning the vent to the "VENTING" position. I really don't like the quick release because it produces a lot of vapor. Security first! Use the natural pressure release after 10 minutes.
Now stir the rice while pressing the "SAUTE" function. It will be sticky at this point, but after adding the remaining ingredients, this should alter.
I then push the rice to the side and fill the empty space with oil and peas. For a minute, saute this before combining everything. Create a space in the center and then add the beaten eggs. Add them to the rice and stir-fry for two to three minutes.
After seasoning, remove the pot from the heat.
Tips and Tricks
- The texture of the rice will alter after sautéing it with peas and an egg. At first, it will be sticky.
- Carrots should not be cooked with rice if you like some crunch; instead, add them before the peas. However, keep in mind that cooking them will take more time.
- Before adding the egg, frozen peas only need to cook for around 2 minutes in the pot.
Eggs have a tendency to stick to the bottom of the skillet, so whisk frequently to prevent this from happening. - I also created this using the rice software. The rice's quality did not seem to vary at all. Because of this, I favor the faster choice.
Recipe Variations
I would argue that this recipe is a healthier version of fried rice, but there are a lot of additional or customizable ingredients.
- When frying the rice, use butter. This method is used at the majority of hibachi restaurants and results in a fuller flavor.
- Add extra vegetables! You can add anything you want, including green beans, sweet corn, broccoli, cauliflower, and thinly sliced white onion!
- At the very end, taste the fried rice and, if necessary, add extra soy sauce or sesame oil to taste.
- To create chicken fried rice, sauté chicken pieces and combine them with the rice.
- To prepare kimchi fried rice, chop up some kimchi and mix it with the rice.
- To prepare Chinese food, you can also include pineapple pieces.
Storing and Freezing
Fridge: Fried rice is a fantastic leftover food! Due to how delicious leftover fried rice is the next day, I always prepare a large amount of it. for up to 4 days when kept in an airtight container.
Freezer: Freeze for up to 6 months in an airtight freezer bag or container.
